The United States is Vietnam's fifth largest coffee export market, which is also the country's most popular beverage, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Import and Export Department. In the non-alcoholic beverage market, coffee consumption is second only to carbonated and bottled beverages.

 
The trend of drinking coffee at home has increased significantly due to the New Crown pneumonia epidemic and coffee consumption is expected to rise in the coming years, which is a good opportunity for Vietnamese companies to expand this market share.
 
According to statistics, by the end of May 2022, Vietnam's coffee exports to the U.S. stood at 9.34 million tons with an export value of $22 million, down 16.5% compared to the same period in 2021, but up 2.3% in export value. Cumulatively, in the first five months, Vietnam's coffee exports to the U.S. exceeded 50,000 tons, down 2.9 percent year-on-year, and the export value was $125 million, up 23.6 percent.
 
It is worth noting that in May 2022, the average export price of Vietnamese coffee to the U.S. was $2,359 per ton, down 5.9% YoY and up 22.4% YoY. In the first five months of 2022, the average export price of Vietnamese coffee to the U.S. was $2,470 per ton, up 27.2% YoY.
 
According to experts, the U.S. coffee market is forecast to grow by 4.8% during 2020-2025.
