According to the "ProduceReport", official data show that Peru's fruit exports will exceed US$4.5 billion in 2021, up 15% y/y. The top performers were blueberries, table grapes and avocados, each with an export value over $1 billion.   Peru is the world's largest exporter of blueberries. In 2020, Peru's blueberry exports exceeded US$1 billion for the first time. In 2021, this figure will reach 1.403 billion US dollars, setting a new record for Peruvian blueberry exports. As the new Peruvian blueberry varieties are suitable for long-distance transportation and have a longer shelf life, the total amount of blueberries exported to China will exceed 30,000 tons. Peruvian blueberries have a different season than blueberry exporting countries such as Chile, Spain and the United States, and are very popular in the international market.   In 2021, Peruvian table grape exports will reach US$1.269 billion, and the export season will last from August to March, with more than 60% concentrated in the OctoberDecember period. China is the third largest importer of Peruvian table grapes, with an import volume of more than 50,000 tons.   Annual exports of Peruvian avocados, mainly of the Hass variety, will reach $1.122 billion. Peru is China's largest supplier of avocados. In 2021, China will import more than 26,000 tons of Peruvian avocados, accounting for 70% of total imports.   At present, in addition to blueberries, grapes, and avocados, Peruvian fruits entering China include mangoes, citrus and frozen strawberries. It is reported that Peru is seeking to export more agricultural products to China, including pomegranates, bananas, dragon fruits and other frozen fruits; pecans, chestnuts and other nut products.
