In the past Chinese New Year, the sales of Brazilian melons were very good. China is the world's largest melon consumption market, with consumption close to half of the world's total production. At the end of 2019, Brazilian melons gained access to the Chinese market. Currently, Brazil is only allowed to export melons to China, and China and Brazil are negotiating the market access for grape, lemon and avocado.

The main import source of Chinese whey powder is the United States, New Zealand for skimmed milk powder and whole milk powder, and Germany for processed milk. In 2021, China accounted for 4% of global cheese imports, 9% of cream imports, 13% of skim milk powder imports, and 23% of whole milk powder imports.
