According to a press release from the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration on March 5, the Food and Drug Administration inspected and enforced the law at a den for the illegal production of food and traditional medicines in Bandung City and Bogor County, Indonesia on February 22. 15 kinds of processed foods containing illegal chemical components and 36 kinds of traditional medicines were investigated and dealt with. 32 kg contains illegal drug raw materials such as paracetamol and sildenafil, 5 kg bulk / semi-finished mixed materials, capsule shells and aluminum and other packaging materials and raw materials.
The director of Indonesia's Food and Drug Administration said at a news conference that "raw materials of pharmaceutical chemicals are banned in traditional medicines and processed foods." The illegal acts of the individuals involved not only involve unlicensed production and operation, but also endanger public health. Under Indonesia's Health Act No. 36 of 2009, it is punishable by 10 years' imprisonment or a fine of up to 1 billion rupiah, violators may be sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment and a fine of up to 500 million rupiah in accordance with the relevant provisions of article 60 of the Employment creation Act.
It is reported that the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration's monitoring and identification system for the production and sale of illegal products has been in operation for two years, and the agency will continue to develop and strengthen supervision to reduce the circulation of illegal drugs and food in Indonesia.
