Exports of Italian Pork and Pork Products to China Suspended . For more information on export to China, please call SINOLOBEN, service Email: sinoloben@sloben.com.
Jan. 19, General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) updated the "List of Approval Imported Meat Products", and Italy has voluntarily suspended the issuance of hygiene certificates for pork and pork products exported to China from Jan. 7, 2022. Since meat exported to China must have a hygiene certificate, this means that Italian pork and pork products with Hygiene Certificate issued after Jan. & are unable to enter China temporarily. In addition to frozen pork and its by-products, heat-treated pork and cured pork, such as the well-known Mortadella sausages, Parma ham, bacon and other products, have also been suspended.
According to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), Jan. 8, 2022, Italy reported one ASF case with several more cases followed up. The annual turnover of the Italian pig industry is about EUR 11 billion, and the export value in 2021 is EUR 1.7 billion, of which about EUR 500 million are sold to non-EU markets.
