Chile's PortalPortuario website reports that, specifically, in the first three months of the year, Chile exported 96.2 million liters of wine with appellation of origin labels, with an export value of $319.6 million and an average export price of $3.32 per liter, down 1.9% year-on-year. China was the main export destination for Chilean wines with appellation of origin labels (13,893 liters, -610%), with the United Kingdom (12,248 liters, +2460%) and Brazil (10,994 liters, -1000%) in second and third place.


 In the same period, Chilean bulk wine exports amounted to 90.6 million liters, up 3.8%, and $85.2 million, up 14.1%. The main buyers of Chilean bulk wine were the United States (26,866 liters, +1%), with the United Kingdom (19,358 liters, +18%) and China (18,430 liters, +30%) in the second and third places.


In addition, food import clearance prompted Chilean sparkling wine exports of 700,000 liters, down 0.8% year-on-year, and exports of $2.9 million, down 4.8%.


International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) Director General Paul Roca (Pau Roca) latest analysis said that in 2021, global wine consumption showed a certain degree of recovery, but in 2022, by the global supply chain crisis, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the new crown variant strains and energy price increases, the global wine market is full of uncertainty.
