On January 27, General Administration of China’s Customs issued an announcement to allow the import of Chilean frozen fruits that meet the requirements, which means on the basis of the agreement signed between China and Chile, Chilean frozen fruit can officially start the process of entering the Chinese market.
 
Frozen fruits refer to fruits that have been quick-frozen after removing inedible peels and pits (excl. cherries), and keep the pulp cores at -18°C or below throughout the cold chain.
 
The varieties of frozen fruits approved for export to China are raspberries, boysenberries, cranberries, apples, avocados, cherries, custard apples, grapes, kiwi, peach, mango, papaya, pineapple, pomegranate, blueberry, blackberry and strawberry.
 

The origin of frozen fruits allowed to be exported to China is the whole territory of Chile; the processing plants must be approved and filed by the Chilean Bureau of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry (SAG), and reviewed and approved by the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC). SAG provides GACC with a list of registrations each year, and approved lists are available on the GACC website.
