According to the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) , the country´s exporters raked in US$ 7.66 billion for 2021, against US$ 6.09 billion in the previous year.

Looking at volume, chicken meat shipments totalled 4.6 million tonnes in 2021, an increase of 8.7% compared to 2020 (4.23 million tonnes).

Production costs for chicken jumped by 82.5%, since January 2019, according to ABPA.

China is the main import country for Brazil's chicken products, and its imports account for 14.3% of Brazil's total chicken exports. However, compared with 2020, China's imports have declined to 640,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.86%. Industry insiders predict that China will still be the largest importer of Brazilian chicken in 2022.
